So, thanks to synapse, I have a Dreamwidth account of my own! I'm not sure how often I will use this, but I'm glad to have an account all the same.

A little about me:

My name is Aubrey. I'm 28 years old and currently live in northern Indiana, but in a few weeks I will be moving to the coast of New Hampshire to start a new job. I'm originally from Massachusetts, so moving will take me closer to home! As you can see, I'm very excited.

In my spare time I like to hang out with my friends, knit and spin, play board games, mess around online, and write. I participate in NaNoWriMo every year and I belong to a few knitting and spinning groups in the Michiana area. (I am hoping to join some groups on the Seacoast when I make my move!)

I graduated from Indiana University in 2003 with a degree in Computer Science and currently work as a web developer for a political website based in Chicago. I will be doing development at my next job as well, specifically working with the Drupal CMS. Prior to my time at IU I attended Mount Holyoke College, where I DJed at the college radio station and watched a lot of late night informercials.

I've been writing online in some form since 1999, when I started my first online journal. I've owned my own domain, star shaped, since 2000, and I can't imagine not ever owning my own webspace. I've released a few themes for Wordpress in the past, and I'd like to get into that again.

Oh yeah, it is 8 there right now! Hee. I want to play with my styles now, but I shouldn't do it while I'm at work... but it's so tempting...

yeah, that's one thing I haven't gotten around to doing yet -- I'm a slacker.

I love the import tools here. I just consolidated a few LJ accounts into my private DW one and am thrilled to pieces.

Awesome! I'm trying to decide what I want to write about here. I've been interested in learning more about the tarot, so maybe I'll put some musings about that here. For some reason I feel a pull toward reading, and I'm hoping to focus more on this when I move!

that is awesome too! do you have a deck picked out? if you want I can try to answer any questions you have. :) I've been reading the tarot off and on for years but am still kind of a n00b, but I do know some good resources.

I don't yet, I haven't really taken a look at a lot of the different decks! My friend has the Rider-Waite deck so that's what I've mainly seen. Where are good places to look for decks online?

Aeclectic.net is definitely the place to go. you can browse by theme, see pictures of the decks, read reviews... all kinds of things :)

I use the Ancient Egyptian Tarot pretty much exclusively.

here's a comment I made about past decks I've used. the Ancient Egyptian tarot is the one that made everything click for me because of the imagery and my developing relationships with those deities. if you can find something that really speaks to you, it will help you out a lot :)

Awesome, thanks! I'll have to see what I find :D I have found I do like the Rider-Waite deck, so I might be boring and just start with that one. It's a good place to start, at least!
